Traffic regulation can be defined as the rules and regulations which guide the behavior or action of road users. This is in place in order to prevent accidents and enhance the free flow of traffic.

(1) Immunity Clause: Some public office holders such as the president, governor, parliamentarians, ambassadors, judges cannot be sued while in office because they enjoy protection of the law called ‘immunity clause’.
(ii) Unpopular Government: Existence of military rule or an unpopular dictatorial government can lead to restriction of citizens’ rights.
(iii) Principle of defamation: Rights to the freedom of expression and press are restricted by the law preventing individuals from saying or publishing statement that could damage the personality of others (laws of slander and libel).
(iv) Declaration of curfew: Declaration of dusk to dawn curfew in periods of emergency or chaos may limit the right of a citizen such as freedom of movement.
(v) Government/state action: Right to private property may be restricted by the right of the state to compulsorily acquire private property for public use.

(i) Equality before the law: This states that all men are equal before the law and that no one is above the law. The law should not be manipulated to favour anyone irrespective of wealth, post, class or status. All citizens of a country should enjoy equal access to the law of the land, equal right to fair hearing etc.
(ii) Impartiality : This means that the due process of law should be followed in dealing with offenders. No one should be made to suffer any abuse of right, loss of personal liberty or punished in any way unless found guilty by the law court.
(iii) Guarantee of fundamental human rights: All citizens of a country should enjoy their fundamental human right without any form of abuse. Such rights include right to life, right to freedom of movement, right to freedom of expression, right to fair hearing etc.
